Second Republic proclamation

Victory and controversy in the MCU race
Nicolau wins the race organised by the Majorcan Cycling Union, Rafel Pou’s club. Despite all the events which surround the race, Nicolau overtakes the rest of participants. The downside is Pou’s disqualification for unlawful reasons. From here onwards, the cyclist from Algaida stirs the fire with his statements on the press, which causes the audience mobilisation and an increasing number of cycling enthusiasts.
Unmitigated victory in Artà
Great success for Nicolau in the race organised by the Flaquer Club, the difference among participants is such that at the entrance of Son Taiet velodrome and during the six prescriptive laps the cyclist from Lloret receives a standing ovation. The press highlights his figure with an increasingly important presence.
Participation in the 13th Tour of Catalonia
The 1931 edition, number 13, in seven stages, witnessed a spectacular competition among two of their most important cyclists: the three-time champion of the Tour Mariano Cañardo and Salvador Cardona, who got the victory in the general classification against him. Both alternated victories in the different first stages, but Cañardo received a sanction five minutes before the sixth stage, which helped Cardona win in the general stage. Nicolau shows his great potential, as acknowledged by the two protagonists of the Tour.
Podium in the Spanish Road Race Championship XXXI
